LONG BEACH, CA — The So Cal Athletics took down the Inland Empire Aces Sunday 7-0 to clinch second place in the SCCBL regular season.
It was So Cal’s final SCCBL regular season game and their 12th league win, improving their record to 12-8. The second place LA Thrashers are 10-8, but even with two wins in their final two SCCBL games this weekend against the Palm Springs POWER, they could only tie the Athletics in the standings.
Due to the Athletics 3-1 season series victory over the Thrashers, LA would lose the tiebreak by league rule.
So, the tables are set. The POWER will host the Athletics for game one and game three (if necessary) at Palm Springs Stadium. The Athletics will invite the POWER to Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, CA for game two.
